User's Guide

Under Menu → Profile & Float Plans, create an account with a valid email. Once logged in, float plans can be created and shared.

All users can see observations. Observations are archived every six hours and removed from the map. Login is required to report an observation.

A dashed border on a reported condition means it was pinned to a long-pressed spot on the map; a solid border means it was reported at the boater's own location at the time.

Weather, Sea Life, Debris, and Police each open a follow-up list to pick a more specific type (e.g. Sea Life → Dolphins, Fish, Sharks, Turtles, Whales, Manatees; Police → Coast Guard, Military, Fire Dept., Rescue Area). Other lets you type a short description, and both Other and Picture let you attach a photo or video.

Long-press anywhere on the map to check for NWS alerts and to report an observation at that spot.

Note: a long-press is also how you pin an observation's location.

Vessel speed is measured in MPH by default (tap the speed button to switch to knots).

The tracking button shows the entire route and standard navigation view — see the Chart Key below for exactly what each icon means.

Tap and hold the map to add waypoints along your route. Remember to save your route when you're done.

Under Menu → Auto Route, long-press the map to set your current location and destination — drag either pin afterward to fine-tune it. The app then computes a route between them automatically, opening it in Edit Route below so you can review it before saving.

Land-avoidance only for now — it doesn't account for water depth, your boat's draft, or channel markers, so review the route before relying on it.

Tap and hold the map to add a waypoint to the end of your route. Select a waypoint to move it. Tap along the route to insert a new waypoint in the middle.

Import a route from Navionics

Go to Navionics → Select Route → My Routes Archive (or create an automatic or manual route) → Save it → Select Review and Share → Export GPX file → Select this app. The route will auto-load.

Share a route or float plan with a crew member, contact, or anyone tracking your trip.

In Settings, turn on Auto Report to have the app periodically suggest a condition report — using a smoothed wave-height average rather than a single snapshot — so you can confirm and post it in one tap instead of filling it out from scratch.

While you run a loaded route, the app senses wave height and period from your phone's motion. When you arrive, it shows a chart of the whole trip — wave height plotted along your timeline, with the average, max, and min called out, a thumbnail of your route, and any conditions reported along the way marked on the same timeline.

For best results, the phone should be mounted to the boat near the helm, not bouncing around in a cup holder.

You can save or share the chart as an image. Tap Done to dismiss it (you'll be asked to confirm so it doesn't close by accident).

Separate from the Tracking button on the map, Tracks (in Settings) records the path you actually travel while it's turned on, drawn as a thin dotted line rather than scattered breadcrumbs. Revisit or reload a past track from Tracks in Settings.

Use Show All in the top-right of the Tracks screen to toggle every saved track on or off on the chart at once, and Edit to select and delete several tracks in one pass.

In Settings, Go Invisible hides your live position from other users on the map while you keep using the app normally — you just won't show up to anyone else.

In Settings, choose which chart overlay shows on the map under Layers: Nautical Charts (NOAA), Leaflet (OpenSeaMap seamarks — buoys, lights, and channel markers), or no overlay at all. AIS Settings is listed here too, for a future release.
